New York, New Yoooooork! Come visit the Big Apple when you got a chance, even just for lunch, dinner or both! We had just flown in from Nashville (it was my girl’s birthday weekend and this is what she asked for) for lunch and a little stroll around the city. We made sure we stopped by at Times Square just for the scenery of busy New Yorkers and tourists all integrated into one spot! While you’re there, think to yourself – have I ever heard of having a chocolate syringe? No? Well, let Max Brenner get that checked off your list. We had no idea what this was, until our friend made a special request for one, and we left with 4 (yes, you can fly with them in your carry-on)! For my wizard friends, you won’t only have to go to Universal for the butter-beer or wands, you can visit their antique shop, Harry Potter NYC – muggles don’t be afraid to pop by! A New York trip would definitely not be one if you don’t tour around the Empire State Building, or take a ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty (at least once). Also don’t forget to book tickets to these tourist places before they get sold out, and they sell out pretty quick, so what are you waiting for! Since we had gotten delayed in the airport, waiting to go back home, we realized if we had been notified any earlier, we would’ve been able to watch the famed Lion King Play on Broadway. Not to worry because we plan to come back for it some time soon, so keep your eyes pealed! Now for those who are on a time crunch, who don’t want to sit around and want to view astounding areas, we suggest walking to the Grand Central Terminal, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, St.Patricks Cathedral and the Brooklyn Bridge. You’ll get your 10,000 steps, we promise you that! For those that have the time to walk around, you should visit the legendary Madison Square Garden, the Chelsea Market, and of course – Shops and Restaurants at the Hudson Yards. So here is where it got tricky for us. We had booked the flights to and from the JFK airport, do not do this unless you want to spend $80 one way and $80 to get back – it was also an hour ride to and from the destinations. Try to use the Newark Liberty International Airport. It may cost a little more, but it’ll be worth it not save on your Uber rides!
